Book place to see game (7)
I believe the answer is:
reserve
'book' is the definition.
(as in booking or reserving in advance)
'to see game' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
an anagram of 'see' is 'ese' which is present in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'place' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for reserve that I've seen before include "Save" , "man on bench?" , "ice" , "Wine kept" , "left on the bench?" .)
