Crossword Genius

Dissolute ten years, not without love (8)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

decadent

'dissolute' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'ten years not without love' is the wordplay.
'ten years' becomes 'decade' (a decade is ten years).
'without' indicates named letters should be taken away.
'love' becomes 'o' (love means zero in tennis).
'not' with 'o' removed is 'nt'.
'decade'+'nt'='DECADENT'

(Other definitions for decadent that I've seen before include "Degenerate" , "Debauched" , "Effete and corrupt" , "Abandoning principles" , "Self-indulgent or immoral" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
