'chilled' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)

'french attraction not having a lot of ale' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'french' could be 'fr' (abbreviation) and 'fr' is present in the answer.
'a' is within the answer.
The remaining letters 'ppe' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for frappe that I've seen before include "Fruit drink frozen to a mush" , "served cold" , "Drink of liqueur poured over crushed ice" , "Iced coffee drink" , "Of a drink, served iced or chilled" .)
