Getting tense - what for? (8)
I believe the answer is:
twigging
'getting' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'tense what for?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'tense' could be 't' (abbreviation used in many dictionaries) and 't' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'wigging' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Another definition for twigging that I've seen is " Getting".)
