Having time to give to the old (6-4)
I believe the answer is:
second-hand
'the old' is the definition.
(as in previously belonging to someone else)
'having time to give' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'time' could be 'second' (unit of time) and 'second' is found within the answer.
'give' could be 'hand' (synonyms) and 'hand' is found within the answer.
This accounts for all the letters.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'to' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for second-hand that I've seen before include "Previously owned - part of watch" , "Used" , "Not original" , "Not new - part of watch!" .)
