Nevertheless, the tango (3)
I believe the answer is:
yet
'nevertheless' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'tango' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'tango' could be 't' (phonetic alphabet: alpha, bravo, charlie etc.) and 't' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'ye' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
'the' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for yet that I've seen before include "Still; however" , "Still, even" , "To this time, nevertheless" , "Thus far" , "in spite of that" .)
