Noted drink in stormy weather (4)
I believe the answer is:
gale
'weather' is the definition.
(gale is a kind of weather)
'noted drink in stormy' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'drink' could be 'ale' (type of beer) and 'ale' is found in the answer.
A single letter 'g' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for gale that I've seen before include "Fierce wind" , "A wild storm" , "A storm of wind and rain" , "Bille from a bladder" , "Force 8 wind" .)
