I know nothing about this answer so I can't tell whether this works.

I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'puck' could be 'one' (where the crossword setter is 'Puck') and 'one' is found within the answer.
'to' could be 'for' and 'for' is found in the answer.
'make' could be 'get' (synonyms) and 'get' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'self' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
