Set up with little support (4)
I believe the answer is:
teed
'set' is the definition.
The answer and definition are different parts of speech. However, past participle verbs and adjectives can sometimes mean the same thing.
'up with little support' is the wordplay.
'up' becomes 'd' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
'with' means one lot of letters go next to another.
'little support' becomes 'tee'.
'd' put after 'tee' is 'TEED'.
