Strand building that might have been shelled? (10)
I believe the answer is:
sandcastle
'might have been shelled?' is the definition.
I know nothing about this answer so I can't tell whether this works.
'strand building' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'building' could be 'castle' (I have seen 'Fortified building' mean 'castle' so perhaps 'building' could also mean 'castle') and 'castle' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'sand' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'that' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for sandcastle that I've seen before include "Model on a beach" , "Fortress constructed on the beach" , "one that goes with the flow?" .)
