Was its queen a bachelor girl? (5)
I believe the answer is:
sheba
'girl?' is the definition.
'was its queen a bachelor' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'a' is found in the answer.
'bachelor' could be 'b' (abbreviation e.g. BA=Bachelor of Arts) and 'b' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'she' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
