A long way away? Not at all (3,4,2)
I believe the answer is:
far from it
'not at all' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'a long way away?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'a' is found in the answer.
'way' could be 'r' (abbreviation for right) and 'r' is found in the answer.
'away?' could be 'fro' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'fro' is found within the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for far from it that I've seen before include "Affirm rot? No way, quite remote" , "Ma for rift? Most unlikely, too remote" , "Well short of objective" , "By no means" , "On the contrary" .)
