A man's standards (5)
I believe the answer is:
norms
'standards' is the definition.
(norm is a kind of standard)
'a man's' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'man's' could be 'ms' and 'ms' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'nor' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for norms that I've seen before include "Customary behaviour, the usual things" , "Representative standards as of behaviour" , "Social standards" , "Authorative standards" , "Standards of customary behaviour" .)
