Ross

I believe the answer is:

iced tea

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'a mixture' is the definition.
The answer and definition can be both things that one consumes for nourishment as well as being singular nouns.
Maybe they are linked in a way I don't understand?

'leaves and rocks?' is the wordplay.
'leaves' becomes 'tea' (as in tea leaves).
'and' says to put letters next to each other.
'rocks?' becomes 'iced' (I can't explain this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'tea' after 'iced' is 'ICED TEA'.

'of' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for iced tea that I've seen before include "Cold summer drink" , "Cool drink" , "Chilled drink" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
