I believe the answer is:

abacus

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'old computer' is the definition.
The definition and answer can be both man-made objects as well as being singular nouns.
Perhaps they are linked in a way I don't understand?

'a way to transfer funds blocked by university's' is the wordplay.
'a way' becomes 's' (Compass direction - South).
'to' means one lot of letters go next to another (I've seen this in other clues).
'transfer funds' becomes 'abac' (I can't explain this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'blocked by' is an insertion indicator (block can mean to plug a gap in something).
'university' becomes 'U' (abbreviation as in UMass).
's' put after 'abac' is 'abacs'.
'abacs' going around 'u' is 'ABACUS'.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for abacus that I've seen before include "that one can count on" , "Old calculator" , "As a cub (anag)" , "It might calculate" , "Old counting-frame" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
