A Western invasion of one African country or another (6)
I believe the answer is:
malawi
'a western' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I can't understand how one could define the other.
I don't understand the remainder of the clue.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for malawi that I've seen before include "It was Nyasaland under Britain" , "Country W. of Lake Nyasa" , "African nation, formerly Nyasaland" , "Central African country" , "Landlocked African country" .)
