I can't tell whether this defines the answer.

I cannot quite see how this works, but
'a' is within the answer.
'woman's' could be 'veres' and 'veres' is present in the answer.
'perfume' could be 'scent' (synonyms) and 'scent' is found within the answer.
'from' could be 'o' (I've seen this in other clues) and 'o' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'fet' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
