Crossword Genius

About to enter a small tie-up, getting capital (8)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

asuncion

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'capital' is the definition.
(Asuncion is an example)

'about to enter a small tie-up' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'about' could be 'on' (as in a book 'on' a certain topic) and 'on' is found within the answer.
'a' is present in the answer.
'small' could be 's' (abbreviation - e.g. clothes size) and 's' is present in the answer.
The remaining letters 'unci' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).

'getting' is the link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for asuncion that I've seen before include "South American capital city" , "Capital of Paraquay" , "Capital city of Paraguay" .)

I've seen this clue in The Hindu.
