Acquiescence while entrusted with a mission? (6)
I believe the answer is:
assent
'acquiescence' is the definition.
(I know that acquiescence can be written as assent)
'while entrusted with a mission?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'while' could be 'as' (eg 'while I walked' means 'as I walked') and 'as' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'sent' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for assent that I've seen before include "Give the thumbs-up" , "Consent or approval" , "Express approval or agreement" , "Agree - concede" , "Acquiescence" .)
