'adrian taken badly with temperature' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
an anagram of 'adrian' is 'radian' which is within the answer.
'temperature' could be 't' (abbreviation) and 't' is present in the answer.
This accounts for all the letters.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
