After tango, enjoy Blackpool, say (4)
I believe the answer is:
town
'blackpool say' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I don't understand how one could define the other.
'after tango enjoy' is the wordplay.
'after' is a charade indicator (letters next to each other).
'tango' becomes 'T' (phonetic alphabet: alpha, bravo, charlie etc.).
'enjoy' becomes 'own' (I can't justify this - if you can you should believe this answer much more).
't' put next to 'own' is 'TOWN'.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for town that I've seen before include "Urban community" , "more established area with 1a [OLD]" , "Won't be about population centre" , "See 9" , "It lies between village and city" .)
