Crossword Genius

Agreed it's unusual in the home turn (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

nodded

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'agreed' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'unusual in the home turn' is the wordplay.
'unusual' becomes 'odd' ('odd' can be similar in meaning to 'unusual').
'in the' indicates putting letters inside.
'home turn' becomes 'ned' (I can't justify this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'odd' placed into 'ned' is 'NODDED'.

'it's' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for nodded that I've seen before include "signed agreement" , "Lowered and raised the head" , "Moved head as sign of assent" , "Signalled affirmation" , "Showed assent or recognition" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
