Anger surrounding European floral tribute (6)
I believe the answer is:
wreath
'floral tribute' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'anger surrounding european' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'european' could be 'e' (abbreviation e.g. EU) and 'e' is found within the answer.
'anger' could be 'wrath' (synonyms) and 'wrath' is found in the leftover letters.
This accounts for all the letters.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for wreath that I've seen before include "A circle made of flowers and leaves" , "Circle of flowers used at funerals" , "Circular band, of flowers say" , "Flower circle for grave" , "A circle of flowers as for grave" .)
