Crossword Genius

Animal goes back to some shops (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

llama

'animal' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)

'goes back to some shops' is the wordplay.
'goes back' says the letters should be written backwards.
'to some' becomes 'a'.
'shops' becomes 'mall'.
'a'+'mall'='amall'
'amall' written backwards gives 'LLAMA'.

(Other definitions for llama that I've seen before include "As bearer of burdens" , "South American animal of the camel family" , "South-American cud-chewing animal" , "Load-carrier" , "woolly customer" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
