Aroused at the flick of a switch? (6,2)
I believe the answer is:
turned on
'aroused' is the definition.
(I know that aroused can be written as turned on)
'at the flick of a switch?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'at' could be 'on' (location) and 'on' is found within the answer.
'the' could be 't' (the is pronounced as a 't' sound in some dialects) and 't' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'urned' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for turned on that I've seen before include "Feeling great excitement" , "Activated - aroused" , "Suddenly attacked - state of ecstasy - high" , "TV working?" , "Excited" .)
