As yet unsure about day and date (6)
I believe the answer is:
steady
'date' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'as yet unsure about day' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'about' could be 'a' (abbreviation in Chambers) and 'a' is present in the answer.
'day' could be 'd' (abbreviation for day) and 'd' is found in the answer.
an anagram of 'yet' is 'tey' which is present in the left over letters.
A single letter 's' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of clue (or it may be nonsense).
'and' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for steady that I've seen before include "Stable - boyfriend or girlfriend" , "Secure" , "Calm and constant" , "Not shaking or moving" , "Stable or regular" .)
