Assignment bound to end in dishonourable discharge (8)
I believe the answer is:
emission
'discharge' is the definition.
(I know that discharge can be written as emission)
'assignment bound to end in dishonourable' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'assignment' could be 'mission' (mission is a kind of assignment) and 'mission' is present in the answer.
A single letter 'e' remains which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for emission that I've seen before include "Is in some (anag) - discharge" , "radiation leakage?" , "Release" , "Something given out" , "Sending forth" .)
