At which point? At this point in temple (7)
I believe the answer is:
whereat
'at which point?' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'this point in temple' is the wordplay.
'this point' becomes 'here' (I've seen this in other clues).
'in' indicates putting letters inside.
'temple' becomes 'wat' (type of Asian temple eg Angkor Wat).
'here' placed within 'wat' is 'WHEREAT'.
'at' is the link.
(Another definition for whereat that I've seen is " Upon which".)
I've seen this clue in The Times.
