Audacity old French person is said to have (4)
I believe the answer is:
gall
'audacity' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'old french person is said to have' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'person' could be 'gal' (gal is a kind of person) and 'gal' is present in the answer.
A single letter 'l' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for gall that I've seen before include "Impudence, cheek" , "Ill-will - bile" , "A sore spot or a bodily bladder" , "Impertinence" , "Impudence; bitterness" .)
