I believe the answer is:
in reverse
This clue might be a double definition.
'backing' is the first definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'the other way round' is the second definition.
'in reverse' can be an answer for 'round' (thesaurus). I'm unsure of the 'the other way' bit.
