Badly over-use bodies of work (7)
I believe the answer is:
oeuvres
'bodies of work' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)
'badly over-use' is the wordplay.
'badly' is an anagram indicator (letters in the wrong order).
'over'+'use'='overuse'
'overuse' with letters rearranged gives 'OEUVRES'.
(Another definition for oeuvres that I've seen is " Bodies of (literary) works".)
I've seen this clue in The Everyman puzzle in The Observer.
