Ball covered by dew becoming wet (5)
I believe the answer is:
moist
'wet' is the definition.
(similar in meaning)
'ball covered by dew' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'ball' could be 'o' (letter resembling a ball) and 'o' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'mist' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
'becoming' acts as a link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for moist that I've seen before include "sloppy" , "lubricated" , "bit wet" , "Affected by tears, perhaps" , "Dampish" .)
