Crossword Genius

Band run out of clothes (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

streak

I believe this clue is a double definition.

'band' is the first definition.
(I have seen 'Long band' mean 'streak' so perhaps 'band' could also mean 'streak')

'run out of clothes' is the second definition.
(to streak is to run while naked)

(Other definitions for streak that I've seen before include "Unbroken series of events" , "Move very fast; thin strip" , "Run naked; long mark" , "Dash (in the nude?)" , "Sudden flash - run naked in public" .)

I've seen this clue in The Independent.
