Bar entered the other way round? (5)

I believe the answer is:

ingot

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'bar' is the definition.
(block of metal, eg a bar of gold)

'entered the other way round?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'the' could be 't' (the is pronounced as a 't' sound in some dialects) and 't' is present in the answer.
'way' could be 'n' (Compass direction - North) and 'n' is located in the answer.
'round?' could be 'go' (rounding is a kind of going) and 'go' is found in the answer.
A single letter 'i' remains which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for ingot that I've seen before include "Metallic bar" , "A brick shaped lump of gold" , "E.g. a gold bar" , "Metal casting" , "Cast metal obtained from a mould" .)

I've seen this clue in The Sun.
