Bear mascot fitted with human head (7)
I believe the answer is:
stomach
'bear' is the definition.
(both can mean to endure or tolerate)
'mascot fitted with human head' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
an anagram of 'mascot' is 'stomac' which is within the answer.
A single letter 'h' remains which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for stomach that I've seen before include "Tummy" , "Bear - belly" , "Bag-like part of the alimentary canal" , "Endure, accept" , "Abdomen" .)
