Become very angry before failure to find sandal (8)
I believe the answer is:
flipflop
'sandal' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'become very angry before failure' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite understand how this works, but
'failure' could be 'flop' (flop is a kind of failure) and 'flop' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'flip' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
'to find' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for flipflop that I've seen before include "sandal" , "What may be afoot" .)
