Crossword Genius

Behind me, light winds catching a standing stone, say? (8)

I believe the answer is:

megalith

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'standing stone say?' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are singular nouns, I cannot see how they can define each other.

'behind me light winds catching a' is the wordplay.
'behind' says to put letters next to each other.
'winds' indicates an anagram.
'catching' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'light' anagrammed gives 'glith'.
'glith' going around 'a' is 'galith'.
'me' next to 'galith' is 'MEGALITH'.

(Other definitions for megalith that I've seen before include "Huge ancient monument stone" , "Huge stone used in prehistoric monuments" , "Large stone in a prehistoric monument" , "Upright (prehistoric) stone" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
