Being dogmatic about the relinquishing of arms? (6,4)
I believe the answer is:
laying down
'relinquishing of arms?' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are present participle verbs, I cannot understand how one could define the other.
'being dogmatic about the' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'about' could be 'a' (abbreviation in Chambers) and 'a' is located in the answer.
The remaining letters 'lyingdown' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
