Crossword Genius

Bells of Ireland back in demand (8)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

carillon

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'bells' is the definition.
(I have seen 'Mechanical bells' mean 'carillon' so perhaps 'bells' could also mean 'carillon')

I don't understand the rest of the clue.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for carillon that I've seen before include "A set of bells sounded mechanically or from keyboard" , "Set of bells playing melodies" , "Set of bells or a tune played on them" , "Tune played from bell-tower" , "Set of musical bells" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
