Maybe there's an association between them I don't understand?

'fare' is the wordplay.
I cannot really understand how this works, but
'fare' could be 'bus' (bus fare is a kind of fare) and 'bus' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'tickets' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
