Bit of a smart outfit, fixture in the East End? (3,3)
I believe the answer is:
bow tie
'bit of a smart outfit' is the definition.
(eg part of a suit)
'fixture in the east end?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'fixture' could be 'tie' (I've seen this before) and 'tie' is found within the answer.
The remaining letters 'bow' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
(Other definitions for bow tie that I've seen before include "Item of formal wear" , "Neckwear worn with formal male dress" , "Item of formal attire" , "Male neckwear worn with evening dress" , "Neck wear" .)
