Blanket covering food (6-3-5)
I believe the answer is:
across-the-board
'blanket' is the definition.
(I know that blanket can be written as across-the-board)
'covering food' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'covering' could be 'boa' (boa is a kind of covering) and 'boa' is found within the answer.
'food' could be 'e' (E is an example) and 'e' is found within the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for across-the-board that I've seen before include "generally" , "General" , "How men may move" .)
