Blush when attacked (5)
I believe the answer is:
gored
'attacked' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are past participle verbs, I cannot see how they can define each other.
I don't understand how the remainder of the clue works.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for gored that I've seen before include "Stabbed with a horn/tusk" , "like an unfortunate matador?" , "Wounded by bull's horns" , "Pierced with horn or tusk" , "Pierced - blush (can be 5 or 2,3)" .)
