Crossword Genius

Body part beginning to pain singer known for shaking it? (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

pelvis

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'body part' is the definition.
(I know that pelvis is a type of body part)

'beginning to pain singer known for shaking it?' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'singer' could be 'elvis' (I've seen this before) and 'elvis' is present in the answer.
A single letter 'p' remains which might be clued in a way I don't see.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for pelvis that I've seen before include "It supports the lower limbs" , "Large bony frame" , "Section between torso and legs" , "Basin-shaped bone structure at lower end of body" , "Bony structure at the base of the spine" .)

I've seen this clue in The Times.
