Book marked for my attention? (4)
I believe the answer is:
tome
'book' is the definition.
(a tome is a book)
'marked for my attention?' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'for' could be 'to' (eg both can mean 'in the opinion of') and 'to' is found in the answer.
The remaining letters 'me' is a valid word which might be clued in a way I don't understand.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for tome that I've seen before include "dictionary?" , "Large heavy book" , "Large scholarly volume" , "Large and scholarly book" , "Big book" .)
