Bookworm, say, taking in page in study (7)
I believe the answer is:
inspect
'bookworm say' is the definition.
Although both the answer and definition are verbs in their base form, I don't understand how they can define each other.
'in page in study' is the wordplay.
'page' becomes 'p'.
'in' means one lot of letters goes inside another.
'study' becomes 'sect' (I can't explain this - if you can you should give a lot more credence to this answer).
'p' put into 'sect' is 'spect'.
'in'+'spect'='INSPECT'
'taking' is the link.
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for inspect that I've seen before include "Check" , "Scrutinise" , "Scan" , "Look over carefully" , "Assess; examine" .)
