Bored, did some exercise (7)
I believe the answer is:
drilled
'bored' is the definition.
(I've seen this before)
'did some exercise' is the wordplay.
I cannot quite see how this works, but
'did' could be 'led' (leading is a kind of doing) and 'led' is found within the answer.
This may be the basis of the clue (or it may be nonsense).
Can you help me to learn more?
(Other definitions for drilled that I've seen before include "Bored a hole or trained by repetition" , "soldiers may be treated thus" , "Made a hole with a pointed tool" , "given military instruction" .)
