Crossword Genius

Bravo men, streak outside for some food (9)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

wholemeal

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'food' is the definition.
(I know that wholemeal is a type of aliment)

'bravo men streak outside for some' is the wordplay.
I cannot really see how this works, but
'bravo' could be 'ole' (I've seen this in another clue) and 'ole' is present in the answer.
'some' could be 'a' and 'a' is found in the answer.
This explanation may well be incorrect...

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for wholemeal that I've seen before include "it's so healthy" , "Type of flour" , "Type of bread" , "Like bread" , "Brown possibly" .)

I've seen this clue in the Sydney Morning Herald.
