Crossword Genius

Bright display in British lounge (5)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

blaze

I'm a little stuck... Click here to teach me more about this clue!

'bright display' is the definition.
'blaze' can be an answer for 'display' (I have seen 'Vivid display ' mean 'blaze' so perhaps 'display' could also mean 'blaze'). I am not sure about the 'bright' bit.

'british lounge' is the wordplay.
'british' becomes 'b' (abbreviation e.g. in 'BBC').
'lounge' becomes 'laze' (I've seen this in another clue).
'b'+'laze'='BLAZE'

'in' acts as a link.

Can you help me to learn more?

(Other definitions for blaze that I've seen before include "rage" , "Burn with a strong flame" , "Fierce fire" , "Burn fiercely" , "glare" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
