Crossword Genius

Brooded with rage seeing caricature (6)

Ross

I believe the answer is:

satire

'caricature' is the definition.
(I've seen this in another clue)

'brooded with rage' is the wordplay.
'brooded' becomes 'sat' (to brood eggs is to sit on them).
'with' means one lot of letters go next to another.
'rage' becomes 'ire' (I've seen this before).
'sat'+'ire'='SATIRE'

'seeing' is the link.

(Other definitions for satire that I've seen before include "Political humour" , "It holds up follies and vices of the powerful to ridicule" , "work with cutting devices?" , "It holds up folly to ridicule" , "Caustic comments" .)

I've seen this clue in The Telegraph.
